KNOBS!

I love a great knob ; )

Although it is a hell of a budget before these things are even considered more than just a means of opening a door. But in an imaginary world, where money is no object and that it would not be best spent on almost anything other, more important than frivolity like this.

So from a purely aesthetic point of view. I do so love this level of attention to quality and detail. To arrive at a door that the mere sight of it brings you joy and an occasion each time it’s used, is a wonderful thing. The craftsmanship alone of some of these is just fabulous.

What i do find a shame though is that I have often found that the people who have this level of luxury in their lives, rarely seem to enjoy or even notice the craftsmanship or qualities that I admire them so much for.

Like our walls perhaps free of a myriad of Old Master paintings and antiques ….. if we didn’t have them, did we miss them?

To them I also say Knobs, Lol. Look around, and really see the beauty of it all and how lucky you are. Although its not really their fault either as it’s what they are used to, the same as any of us.

It’s what we grow used to really, isn’t it? Our reality and experience is always ours alone. But does the commonplace always become taken for granted or even ignored no matter how exceptional or beautiful?

Do we take the time to enjoy what we have now?

Shouldn’t we all try and take the time to notice and enjoy all the little details around us too and remember how lucky we are ? Whether a passing bloom, the touch of a loved ones skin, a wonderful door, some angelic birdsong or just a smile that was freely and genuinely given that day.

No matter how lucky we feel we are, still take pleasure, relish and even celebrate all that you are lucky enough to be and have around you. No matter how small, rejoice in it all.

On a lighter note though, the look of the knob is perhaps equally as important to me as how it feels in your hand, don’t you think?

Ahem, I’ll stop there….
